I have received this letter from the Governor of Ohio. They must believe that -since I am not rich and powerful, I must despise the rich and powerful or must believe that he does.. I find this kind of insane propaganda insulting. Whoever writes this material, apparently thinks that I must not keep up with the news.
 Read this mail where he is asking for a donation so he can 'overwhelm the power of the rich and powerful and selfish'.. Am I to believe that teachers, police and firefighters are the rich and powerful?? Click here about the bill he is pushing to be passed..

Republican surveys are being sent out. After starting the survey, it didn't take long to figure out that these questions were designed to make me believe that the Republican leaders really know what the most important issues are.. But do they??

**Someone tell me where is the option to vote for**
Reducing lobbyists power that benefits only small groups, but helps secure money and/or loyalty for a representatives re-election?
What about the forever salaries and benefits for federal representatives? It seems that OUR representatives should be on the same Social Security and Medicare Plan that most of the population is on. Why should they have benefits better than most citizens they are paid to represent?
What about making health care insurance NON-PROFIT (as I believe it was before 1963), so health-care insurers are not one of the highest profit companies in America? Who should be dictating what hospitals, doctors and patients will be paying for health and life saving services, when a profit is the primary goal?
What about listening to the most respected teachers in the nation about what works and what doesn't work in our school systems, instead of relying on test scores? No child left behind, has made an education system with fewer children being led to excel. US students are falling behind in overall performance. Many states give tests to judge a child's improvement and a teacher's ability to teach. But they are not always taken seriously by the child taking the test.. It doesn't count as a grade and many don't like taking tests.. What genius created this system to judge if students are improving?
What if our political system was not really about big or small government control but about supervised ethics in business and politics? We need incentives for big companies to create jobs in America. However, we must take notice that many companies are abusing stock holders, workers, and tax payers through unjustified bonuses, golden parachute retirements, and tax evasion strategies. Everyone I knew had known that lending money was getting out of hand. Articles were even being written about loans being given to Illegal immigrants. People were told to lie about how much money they were making so they could 'afford' a new home.. Why did our government allow this to continue or should we believe they don't read newspapers or watch the news?
What is being done to bring down our national debt to countries like China? In the first time in history we went to war and reduced taxes (mostly for the rich) at the same time..
Is anyone upset that Oil companies are very content to let market speculation decide the price of oil? -Where is competition in this market?
I am grateful for the Do Not Call law that was made. It was frustrating to leave what I was doing, which was usually cooking or eating dinner, to walk over to pick up my phone and get a commercial. However, ALL Robo-calls should also be banned. I don't care if it is for a political campaign or charity. If someone deems these to be so important, then don't send me a pre-recorded tape message! Let me actually talk to someone.. They will then know if I appreciate the cause they are calling about or NOT..
There is a need for Legal Reform. Damage awards are sometimes too excessive, some claims are so outrages they should not make it to court, and some suits are only settled *not* because they did anything wrong but because the accused or their insurance company cannot afford the court costs.
It appears that Ethanol is NOT working to reduce our dependency on foreign oil or cleaning the air. It appears that we need to be working harder in encouraging use of public transportation and smaller, more fuel efficient autos for daily commuting.

I should also mention many of our Federal Representatives 'pork barrel' agendas need to stop. I will list the Citizens Against Government Waste outlines of seven criteria by which spending can be classified as "pork":
1.Requested by only one chamber of Congress;
2.Not specifically authorized;
3.Not competitively awarded;
4.Not requested by the President;
5.Greatly exceeds the President’s budget request or the previous year’s funding;
6.Not the subject of congressional hearings; or
7.Serves only a local or special interest.
I watched Food, Inc and was wondering why the conditions of animals for food, is not being made an issue at state or federal levels.. If companies like Tyson and Monsanto are forcing farmers to produce food for them -and it must be done by their rules and conditions, then there should be an investigation how they are doing business. Farmers should be considered businessmen and not forced to be big business servants.
