The Insanity Award for Shameless Greed goes to:
Makena, KV Pharmaceutical of St. Louis
For bringing a commonly used medication that prevented premature birth (that sold originally for $10) to bring it to FDA approval standards and thus raise the price to $1500 per dosage. How many families and children will have to suffer because the medication has been priced too high -after it was already working and affordable? Will lawyers be the ultimate winners when children are born needlessly premature and has problems because they could not afford the medication? http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2011/03/29/20110329preemies0329.html
The Insanity Award for Political Deception goes to:
Gov. John Kasich of Ohio
John Kasich ran for governor as a fiscal conservative. He promised to cut government spending at every level. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be his plan for his own political office appointees.
John Kasich has even made up a brand new position: Special Assistant to the Governor at a brand new salary of $145,000. The new incoming Chief of Staff will make $170,000. Yet, the Governor himself makes $141,708!
His true goal appears to be to break unions.. He wishes to have no negotiations. He has also indicated, after election, his opponents will get with the program or they will be toast. Many Ohioans have seen a large difference in his demeanor compared to his friendly pre-election ads..

Insanity Award for Inciting Public Insanity goes to:
Rev. Terry Jones and his congregation for the burning of the Quaran.
The Rev. had been advised that burning the Quaran would be taken very seriously overseas and endanger the US mission and put US servicemen in more danger. The response to Jones' self righteous insane cause, proved to be more dangerous than expected.. The outrage of many people in Afghanistan resulted in the killing of people who would never would have thought of burning anyone's Holy Book. Some were there, as part of a mission to bring peace to their country and to let them practice the religion of their choice.. Most people, that serve in that country, talk about the extreme harsh conditions that they endure, while trying to improve life for all the people of Afghanistan..
All this has proven is that Insanity, when taken personal, will bring out our own insanity.. As we witness the insanity of Rev. Jones, his congregation, the news media for making this small town idiot to be known nationally, and the response that followed, we must become aware that insanity is within all of us.. Never allow another person's insanity to be taken personally and to use it as an excuse to justify letting our own insanity take over our good senses..
